Life After Beau

These are just a few things I've written. In this emotionally chaotic time, it helps to organize my thoughts.
Thank you for sharing this life with me.

Poem and Flowers

Just wanted to share these two things....
First, something that one of the nurses (Kate) sent to me, a few weeks after Beau died. Nurse Kate helped me deliver Beau, took pictures of him, measured/weighed him, etc. She was so compassionate, and really helped us through our darkest hours. I sent her a thank-you card after I received the card & poem, but still don't think that was sufficient to express my feelings of gratitude. Thank you, Nurse Kate.

And my husband bought me flowers today. Yup, that's a red sunflower, folks :)

Oh Beau, I WISH YOU WERE HERE.

  2. What a beautiful heart Nurse Kate must have to be able to give of herself like she did to you, Sam and Beau during such a devistating and shocking time in your lives. I am in complete awe of the nurses and doctors who can give not only their medical best to us bereaved famlies, but who can also be extremely compassionate and caring at the same time. What a rare and much needed combination... Thank goodness for nurses like Kate!

And the flowers that Sam gave you are absolutely stunning!! To me it is a lovely symbol of hope, love, healing and keeping Beau's memory forever alive and a part of your family...

Beau may not be physically here...but he will always be a part of everything you and Sam do. Beau sure picked some beautiful people to be his forever parents...

  3. Not sure if Nurse Kate will ever see this or not, but thank you so much, ma'am, for being so helpful & kind & nice to my daughter. I will never forget her pain & anguish that terrible day/night that Beau came and went directly to heaven. But thanks to people like you, Sarah was helped and comforted.
May God bless you for your kindness...
    Sincerely,
    Bob Metoxen (Sarah's dad)

  4. It is so amazing to receive such heartfelt gifts such as that hand-written poem. One of our nurses sent us a card and "willow" brand carved statue called "rememberance". That touched me so deeply and that statue is placed on our mantle next to Liam's photo.

I'm glad you have received loving kindness in your deepest days of grief.
